This paper which was presented at the AMEU Conference 2019 explores the impact of some of the approved municipal SSEG tariffs on municipal revenue and customer ‘business case’ and outlines key tariff elements to balance access and cost recovery, until such time as detailed costing studies provide specific tariff building blocks (SEA, 2019).

SSEG Permission to Connect to Network Letter example
Example of a letter to be sent to SSEG customers once the system has been installed and successfully commissioned. It gives permission for the SSEG system to generate while connected to the network. Based on City of Cape Town’s letter.

A example letter warning customers with unregistered SSEG systems that they have to submit an application to be officially registered with the municipality. Based on City of Cape Town’s letter.
SSEG electricity supply by-law amendment guide
Guides the amendment of a municipal electricity supply by-law to cover SSEG. Provides recommended text to use in the by-law. Also outlines the roles of both by-laws and policies, and the differences between them (Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr, 2019).
