NRS097-2-1: 2024 Grid Connection of Embedded Generation – Utility Interface

This guideline is intended as an introductory resource to give direction to municipalities faced with integrating export tariffs or
wheeling transactions into their billing systems.

The City of Cape Town’s approved inverter list for NRS097-2-1 2017 and later versions (inverters with NRS097-2-1 certificates before 2017 version are not on this list). Cape Town updates this list periodically, so visit the City of Cape Town website to see the latest version.

NRS 097-2-3 provides criteria to be applied when applications for LV connected embedded generators are being assessed.  If generators fall within these criteria, they can be approved without doing grid impact studies.
